Siddhartha, also known as the supposed founder
of the Buddhist religion was knows as the Buddha (which directly translates to "the enlightened one"). It is believed in the
Buddhist religion that Siddhartha reached the state of enlightenment through an extremely prolonged and intense state of meditation.
Thusly, meditation is widely practiced and seen as an important part of practicing Buddhism.
Meditation can currently be defined as a sort of art
of consciousness, or a state of awareness.
